Jane Austin Needs More Vikings
“What? WHY?!”, you may be asking. Well, because there aren’t any. Don’t you think the tea party scene would have had more literary oomph if an anachronistic band of norse warriors had stormed into the ladies’ garden, grabbed the tea pot, and raced off with many a jeering war woop? No? Oh.
Jane Austin with vikings, while perhaps not a classic literary triumph for the ages, is certainly an entertaining idea. The purpose of moreVikings, besides being a book review blog, is the Needs More Vikings Writing Project, a fun game for both readers & writers to participate in.
Silly is NOT an obstacle or problem. It’s almost a goal. We’ve been told this project sounds like an improve from Who’s Line Is It Anyways.
Jane Austin Needs More Vikings is the first endeavor of the Needs More Vikings project. The purpose is to explore the variety of results/entries that can be garnered for re-creations of several pre-chosen scenes from Pride and Prejudice with the crucial addition of vikings. And not just by writers, but by readers and artists as well.
